Facilities Management (FM) supports the University of Virginia's wide range of research, academic and patient care programs. With over 1,200 employees dedicated to excellence, Facilities Management is responsible for the day-to-day operation, repair and maintenance of U.Va.'s buildings, infrastructure and grounds as well as other University-owned and leased properties.

This position will afford recycling educational opportunities for employees within Facilities Management. Employee will perform exceptional level of recycling service in assigned areas through safe work practices while using proper recycling techniques. Employee will maintain good working relationships with customers, staff, students and supervisors. Employee will have special project work as assigned. Employee will gain increasing efficiency with recycling techniques, supplies and equipment while moving through the Career Path Stages. All employees hired into the Career Path Recycling Worker position will begin in Stage 1 and progress through the Career Path to Stage 4.

Shift: Monday-Friday; 7:00AM-3:30PM

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
All employees will be hired at Stage 1.

In order to progress to higher levels within the position, an employee must successfully complete the required knowledge, skills and abilities of the current stage and each previous stage.

Employee will enter the position with the ability to perform basic recycling skills.

Ability to interact with others by understanding the principles of:
1. Providing a service to an individual or serving a product to individuals; 2. Listening to extended conversations from one person or others in order to help them; 3. Being a public representative of an organization; and 4. Ability to operate Mechanical Devices or vehicles.
