Equipment Rental Staff - Institutional Student Worker (Spring 2018)

General Summary: The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for applicants for the position of Equipment Rental Staff for the Department of Recreational Sports. The position is housed within the Outdoor Pursuits Program and will be under the supervision of the Outdoor Pursuits Program Supervisor. The position is also a part of the Division of Student Affairs. The position is for student employees and is limited to a maximum of 20 hours per week.

Job Duties & Responsibilities: The student will:
  • Provide high quality customer service to patrons, provide a welcoming and inclusive environment to patrons
  • enforce all policies and procedures
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications, Google Docs, etc.
  • Maintain, clean, organize and repair all equipment
  • Possess a comprehensive knowledge of outdoor equipment offered to patrons
  • Assist with the collection and organization of monetary transactions
  • Work in conjunction with the Program Supervisor to continuously assess the needs of the program


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Applicants must exhibit effective organizational and leadership skills as well as strong communication skills.
  • Applicants should also have an enthusiastic approach to the occupation and be professional at all times.


Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker
  • Applicants must have the ability to attend staff trainings/meetings and have a willingness to work at least 5-8 hours per week. In addition to the 5-8 hours a week, applicants must also be willing to work special events. Applicants must also attend the Staff Retreat in its entirety.
