Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

Responsible for managing the payroll processing function of a $600M annual payroll at a large, multi-campus university by performing complex, expert level professional duties in accounting, payroll tax, and Form W2 reporting. Responsible for cumulative year to date reports, quarterly Form 941s, and year end wage reporting. As a manager in the Payroll Department, this position must communicate effectively with stakeholders within the University system and must be effective in leading and managing staff.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)

Bachelor's degree in accounting, or business administration and 4 years professional accounting experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Advance degree and CPA highly preferred. Experience in Payroll accounting highly desirable, as well as knowledge of PeopleSoft HCM 9.2, accounting theory, and internal controls.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Employee must have excellent supervisory/leadership skills and excellent communication skills. Requires strong critical thinking skills with a demonstrated record of problem solving.
