FSU Foundation Accounting Office
Process disbursement requests for the Foundation, Alumni Association and Real Estate Foundation. Audit disbursements for completeness, adequate documentation, proper authorizations and to ensure fund purpose is met. Apply appropriate general ledger coding and confirm compliance with the Foundation's disbursement policy and applicable IRS regulations. Process P-card monthly expense forms. Review/audit forms for completeness and adequate documentation. Apply appropriate general ledger coding in web-based system. Communicate with departments, when necessary, to follow up on missing or inadequate documentation to ensure timely processing of payments. Other duties assigned.
A Bachelor's degree; or high school diploma or equivalency and four years of experience related to the duties of this position. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to four years.)
Experience and the ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Practices (GAAP).
Experience prioritizing and organizing work assignments.
Must be detail-oriented, highly-organized and able to multitask and manage time accordingly.
Experience compiling, reviewing and reconciling financial data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
Experience providing excellent customer service to include timely execution of information.
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
Capability in handling high volume of work.
Experience working with Microsoft Office applications.
Bachelors Degree in Accounting or a Business-related field.
Knowledge and experience with PeopleSoft.
Experience in a governmental or non-profit business environment.
Experience interpreting and applying related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.
This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.
If not otherwise specified, schedule is M-F, 8-5.
