The Electrical and Computer Engineering program of York College of Pennsylvania invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering position beginning in May or August 2018. Technical areas of interest include but are not limited to controls/automation and signal processing.
Our engineering programs are characterized as hands-on with small class sizes and extensive student/faculty interactions. Students participate in three semesters of engineering work in industry as part of our co-operative education program prior to graduation, gaining valuable experience that they bring back to the classroom.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field. Candidates should have the ability and desire to teach a broad range of undergraduate ECE courses. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the potential for outstanding teaching, advising, and scholarly activity; to develop undergraduate laboratories; and to work with industry and students in applied research. Industrial work experience is valued as is interest or experience in active-learning pedagogies.
Interested candidates should electronically submit the following: a cover letter with a description of relevant experience, a curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy and practices, a statement of professional/scholarly objectives, and contact information for three references. Review of applications will begin immediately. While applications will be accepted until the position is filled, for full consideration, applications should be received by December 31, 2017.
