Instructor of General and Organic Chemistry
The chemistry program at York College seeks applicants with teaching experience and a desire to apply their knowledge and skills in mentoring undergraduates while teaching both lecture and laboratory sections of the introductory course in general and organic chemistry. This course is a required course for nursing majors. Other duties involve overseeing additional sections of the course taught by adjuncts as well as ensuring the curriculum is in alignment with best practices and modified using outcomes assessment.
A Master’s degree in chemistry or chemical education is required. Successful candidates will demonstrate a knowledge of introductory chemistry including organic chemistry. They will possess an ability to communicate effectively, organize laboratory work, and exhibit excellent management and interpersonal skills.
