General Summary: The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Coordinator of Orientation and Transfer Programs. The Coordinator of Orientation and Transfer Programs in the Office of Orientation and Transition Programs at the University of North Georgia will execute programming designed to support new and continuing students during their transition into and through the University of North Georgia. Housed on the Oconee campus, the Coordinator has responsibility for directing, developing, and administering orientation and transfer student programs and services for primarily the Oconee campus, but will assist with other campuses as well. This position will collaborate to develop a comprehensive framework for orientation as well as internal and external transfer programming across all UNG campuses. The Coordinator will serve on departmental and cross-campus committees, and will collect, analyze and disseminate data and advocate for student needs.

Job Duties & Responsibilities: The Coordinator of Orientation and Transfer Programs:
- Coordinate orientation and transfer student programs with a primary focus on the Oconee campus including, but not limited to: New Student Orientation, Transfer Student Orientation, Parent and Family Orientation (for Spring, Summer, and Fall starters), and Extended Orientation programs (Convocation, WoW, workshops, etc)
- Assist with coordination of internal transfer student processes and procedures across all campuses by: maintaining internal transfer application database, reviewing internal transfer applications; disseminating internal transfer requests for review as needed; developing and co-facilitating internal transfer orientation/welcome programs; collaborating with academic advising staff to ensure effective communication to students; and assisting with campus-wide trainings as needed
- Participate in all facets of planning, preparation, and execution of programs within the Office of Orientation and Transition Programs across all UNG campuses, in collaboration with other staff members to ensure achievement of departmental, divisional, and institutional goals, including weekly supervision meetings, weekly team meetings, and periodic staff trainings and retreats
- Assist with advising students seeking to internally and externally transfer by providing necessary information about UNG processes and general transfer student experiences, as well as connecting them to appropriate resources at UNG or other institutions
- Oversee Online Pre-Orientation modules content and communications
- Assist with recruitment, selection, and training of multi-campus orientation leader team.
- Facilitate new and transfer student outreach (attending major fairs, open house, preview days, mentor programs, etc).
- Actively participate in strategic planning and innovation efforts for the Division of Student Affairs
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Must have ability to understand how orientation and transition programs fit into the larger picture of higher education
- Enthusiasm for working with incoming students and their families
- Excellent computer skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office required; strong oral and written communication skills
- Problem solving skills and initiative
- The ideal candidate will be a vital member of the Student Affairs team who is inclusive, flexible, innovative, and open to creating and implementing new ideas
Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree in student personnel services, higher education or related field strongly preferred.
- Minimum 2-3 years post-baccalaureate experience in orientation and transition programs or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Evening and weekend hours
