Associates Degree or minimum on one year relavant work experence in lieu of degree.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Minimum of one year relevant work experience in Emergency Management.
This is an entry level position under the general supervision of the Director of Emergency Management: facilitate and manage the development of response plans for crisis and emergency response for UW-Madison and UW System institutions and coordinate the administrative processes for the Emergency Management Unit. This position reports to UW-Madison Police Department (UWPD) and will be based at UW-Madison.
This position will assist the 26 UW System institutions in the development of emergency response plans. This position will require moderate travel to the UW System locations. This position will also coordinate administrate processes including, but not limited to, managing the Department?s CPR program, managing the UWPD First Responders (student EMS service), and general office management work. The person is required to participate in disaster operations, staff the disaster field office or command post, and Emergency Operations Center as required and assist in administering the various disaster programs. This position will need to maintain confidentiality and exercise judgment and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive issues such as confidential matters that effect employer-employee relationships.
In addition to weekday work, persons in this position will be required to work some weekends during special and/or other major events. This position could be called in at any time in the event of an emergency at a UW System location, or other emergency plan activation to assist in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) or with other operations. The position also serves in an on call capacity at assigned times.

This is an entry level Emergency Management Administrative position responsbile for assising Emergency Service Coordinators and Managers and provide logicstical support. Provides general office support to the Emergency Management Unit. Duties include scheduling of meetings, taking meeting minutes, coordination of trainings, requesting office supplies, and travel support.
