Position Summary: The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Bilingual and English as a Second Language Education program. In addition, the successful candidate must have a minimum of three years teaching experience in U.S. P-12 schools and meet Illinois qualifications for Bilingual/ESL endorsement. We seek candidates with outstanding teaching skills, a record of successful work with non-traditional or diverse student populations, and evidence of potential for scholarship in the field of education, as well as for leadership and service to the community and university. Minimum Qualifications: 1. Three years successful teaching experience in accredited U.S. P-12 schools 2. Earned Ph.D. in education, preferably in the area of Bilingual/ESL P-12 education (Ph.D. ABD with candidacy in the final stages of completion will be considered.) 3. Have or meet qualifications for Illinois State Board of Education endorsement in Bilingual or ESL 4. Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and graduate Bilingual and ESL Education courses for pre-service and in-service P-12 5. Documented ability to make intellectual contributions through scholarly publications/presentations consistent with the maintenance of AQ (a€œAcademically Qualifieda€) faculty status under accreditation standards

Preferred Qualifications: 1. Interest in and demonstrated ability to develop and teach online courses 2. Experience working with NCATE or CAEP accreditation. 3. Work with curriculum design or redesign 4. Scholarly publication/presentations with referred journals/conferences
