Summary of Job Duties

The Mail Services Coordinator is responsible for receiving, sorting and distributing mail and packages. This position will also forward undeliverable mail as well as prepare regular, certified, registered, and express mail for proper handling. Accept and process Passport Applications and maintain passport acceptance certification from the Department of State.

State and federal laws and agency/institution policy govern this position.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job function of this job, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

  • The formal education equivalent of an high school diploma
  • At least six months of experience in mail services operations

Does this job require any license(s)/certification(s)? Yes

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Windows
  • Good driving record
  • Experience driving a manual shift vehicle
  • Experience operating a cash register
  • Experience operating a postage metering machine in a business setting
  • Experience working in a corporate or United States Postal Service mail room
  • Experience as a shipping clerk using UPS and/or FedEx and DHL shipping software
  • Experience operating a copy machine in a production setting.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Knowledge of USPS postal regulations
  • Knowledge of 3rd party shipping vendors' processes
  • Knowledge of University of Arkansas Fayetteville Campus building locations
  • Able to read, write, stand, lift, push, walk and drive

Physical Conditions The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside., The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
