Security Engineer / Project Manager (Bit9) Consultant is needed in New York, NY for a 6+ month consulting position - Job MB1006070.

The security engineer is responsible to assist in design and implementation of new corporate security tools. In addition to ongoing projects, the engineer will also respond to potential incidents as the first line of defense. The successful candidate must possess strong engineering skills, demonstrate a strong analytical work style, and be familiar with aligning process to security standards.

Core Skills:
-Experience deploying and managing anti-virus solutions
-Knowledge of vulnerability assessment tools and their use
-Experience designing secure networks, systems and application architectures
-Involvement in planning, researching and developing security procedures and runbooks
-Proven understanding of application whitelisting (Bit9 experience a must)
-SIEM configuration and management (SIEM experience a must - LogRhythm preferred)
-Experience conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration tests (Nessus, Metasploit, etc)
-Ability to use industry standard incident response and forensic tools

Responsibilities:
-Assist in the design and configuration of security systems including the SIEM (LogRhythm), anti-virus (McAfee EPO), application whitelisting tools (Bit9/Carbon Black), and vulnerability scanners
-Create/maintain documentation, procedures and runbooks for security tools
-Assist in the maintenance of the network security teams vulnerability management program
-Conduct vulnerability analysis on infrastructure and applications as part of the secure SDLC process, and create remediation recommendation plans
-Conduct semi-regular penetration tests on infrastructure/applications, and on any new deployments prior to go-live
-Conduct thorough investigation into potential incidents and write detailed reports on actions taken, and liaise with the Information Security department on status
