MARKET & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIST, Executive Leadership Center, Questrom School of Business (
The Market and Business Development Strategist plays an integral part in growing the Executive Leadership Center (ELC) through integrated marketing and business development. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Executive Education, s/he combines strategic and tactical responsibilities in three major areas. One, s/he collaborates with the Business Development Executive (BDE) to develop proposals and sales materials for prospective custom program clients. Two, s/he helps the BDE manage existing accounts, ranging from ensuring contact continuity to securing additional work. Three, s/he collaborates with department leadership, Questrom Marketing and Communications (MarCom), and the ELCs Associate Director of Enrollment and Marketing to improve messaging, support new and expanded sales initiatives, and expand the ELCs reach in key markets. The successful candidate thus has the opportunity to use his/her writing talent, detail orientation, and energetic enthusiasm to drive the business of the ELC and BU Questrom, combining capabilities in marketing, business development, communications, and corporate strategy. This is a part-time role, 30 hours per week.
B.S./B.A. required, Masters Degree preferred. 3 to 5 years of relevant experience. Desirable experience includes creating and executing departmental marketing plans to achieve results, hands-on work with marketing channels and tools (digital media, Salesforce and other CRM systems, e-mail automation software, social media, blog creation, SEO/SEM, etc.), launching and managing products/programs, distilling theoretical or academic information into consumer-friendly marketing, and articulating the points of differentiation between ones own products/programs and the competitors. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including writing persuasive marketing copy. Knowledge of HTML and WordPress helpful. High comfort interacting with senior management, faculty, and external stakeholders. Highly organized self-starter who takes ownership and requires little guidance. Attention to detail and commitment to quality. Positive can-do attitude, flexibility, initiative, and ability to thrive as member of team. Responsive to feedback and continuous improvement. Strong interest and passion for higher education and executive-level learning.
