Job Description Summary:

CPS is searching for a full-time Office Assistant at the Arlington Education Center.
The position reports to the Arlington Center Operations Supervisor. This position does not have direct reports but may train and supervise temporary and hourly wage workers.The primary focus for this position is to provide front desk customer service, administrative and functional support at the Arlington, Virginia Education Center. The key responsibilities include:

Greet and welcome guests, students and faculty as soon as they arrive.

Direct visitors to the appropriate person and office.

Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls.

Ensure reception area and classrooms are tidy and presentable.

Test classroom A-V prior to use; troubleshoot (or request assistance from tech team) to resolve any technical issues.

Provide basic and accurate program and university information in-person and via phone/email.

Assist in space event scheduling and logistical planning.

Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk.

Order front office supplies and keep inventory of stock.

Support meetings and events.

Keep updated records of copying expenses.

Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, etc.

Work cooperatively with other day and evening staff, and support Operations Supervisor on special projects/events.

Back up to the Senior Office Assistant at the center.

Perform other work-related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma/GED, or, a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

Proven work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative or similar role.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Hands-on experience with office and A-V equipment (e.g. fax machines, printers, projectors).

Professional attitude and appearance.

Solid written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.

Excellent organizational skills.

Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.

Customer service attitude.
