Job Description Summary:

GW's College of Professional Studies (CPS) designs programs with the requirements of adult learners and working professionals in mind. CPS offers undergraduate and graduate programs that address the competency requirements of adults working in emerging and rapidly changing professions. CPS programs draw from multiple academic disciplines and are delivered in flexible formats: face-to-face, online, or a blend of both. CPS is searching for a full-time Admissions Coordinator to ensure that all aspects of the admissions process runs smoothly for assigned programs to prospective/incoming students. This position will report to the Director of Admissions for CPS. Responsibilities include:

Advising applicants throughout their admission process from starting the application through acceptance of offer of admission.

Responding to applicants' questions and concerns, including following up on incomplete or inaccurate applications and processing/analyzing applications for admission.

Preliminary assessment of an applicant's academic transcripts, qualifications, and other required documents to ensure that university and program guidelines/standards are maintained, and to determine eligibility for admissions.

Communicating with other university offices such as the offices of financial assistance, registrar, student services, deans, marketing and recruitment, and international services to ensure coordinated and comprehensive services to applicants and admitted students.

Researching and resolving unusual or complex admissions issues by consulting with the Director of Admissions and other university officials as appropriate.

Advising international applicants of the admissions process. Preparing I-20s and other documentation for international applicants as required.

Referring decisions for admissions or denial to support staff to produce appropriate correspondence based on recommendation of program contact or admissions committee.

Processing applications and admissions information in Banner and TargetX.

Performing other work related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma/GED plus 1.5 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent attention to detail.

Strong communication skills, including written and verbal as well as team work and collaborative skills.

Working knowledge of processing applications for I-20/DS-2019.

Proficient customer service and telephone skills.

Strong organizational skills.

Proficient experience with TargetX/Salesforce, Banner, and Microsoft Office Suite skills are preferred.

Admissions-related experience in a college or university, including reviewing/evaluating applicant credentials, preferably at the graduate level, is desired.
