A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is open in Dr. David Kashatus' laboratory (kashatus@virginia.edu) in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Cancer Biology, at the University of Virginia, to study the role of mitochondrial morphological heterogeneity in pancreatic cancer.

Research projects include, but are not limited to, using advanced microscopy to analyze mitochondrial morphology in a variety of pancreatic tumors and cell lines and employing machine learning techniques and other data analyses to uncover relationships between mitochondrial structure and tumor physiology. The Research Associate will work independently on the projects, spending approximately 90% of the time conducting experiments and analyzing data, 5% on training graduate students, and 5% on writing manuscripts and grants.
