The Technology in Anesthesia and Critical Care Laboratory within the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Virginia seeks a Research Scientist. This individual will be responsible for providing leadership of small groups, and work with little supervision once objectives are defined and methods of approach outlined.
Qualified candidates must have a PhD, preferably in the field of Biotechnology or related fields and have at least three years of post-doctoral experience. Candidates must have prior experience writing & publishing manuscripts and have research experience working in all of the following areas:
- cell culture
- western blot
- oxidative stress
- ATP:ADP ratio
- In vivo animal studies.
The successful candidate is expected to work collaboratively and conduct independent research in projects associated with the measurement and modification of subcellular energetics in cells and whole animals subjected to a variety of stressors.
