Job Summary

This position supports the office of Student Leadership and Development in its mission to provide students significant leadership experiences, building and maintaining relationships with students, cultural awareness, social and civic responsiveness, and activities that complement course objectives and subject matter to promote and advance student retention and completion. This position would assist the Student Leadership and Development office with the following programs and initiatives: Student Government, Student Involvement Fair, Alternative Spring Breaks, peer education health and awareness campaigns, campus activities, and student clubs and organizations.

Daily tasks will include:
1. Taking meeting minutes at SGA and GASO meetings,
2. Assisting with event set-up and clean-up,
3. Assisting with posting of marketing materials,
4. Researching local non-profit organizations where Aims can send student groups to do service work,
5. Researching non-profit organizations at Alternative Spring Break sites where trip participants can do service,
6. Coordinating sites where service can be completed on campus but resulting products can be returned to non-profits (i.e. decorated bags for Meals on Wheels), and attendance and participation tracking.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Proficiency in MS OS and Office products - Word & Excel as well as Aims Google email and Google Docs
2. Must exhibit professionalism, dependability, strong organizational/problem solving skills.
3. Demonstrate the ability to work with limited supervision
4. Strong oral and written communication skills
5. Strong interpersonal skills
6. Completed CCR 092 with a "B" or higher (or tested out)

Preferred Qualifications

1. Public speaking experience
2. Experience performing service work in the community

Work Hours
Monday through Friday, 8am-5:30pm, occasional evenings or weekends.
