Posting Information: The Western Carolina University Fine Art Museum seeks a creative, scholarly, team-oriented and audience-minded Curator of Collections and Exhibitions. The Curator of Collections & Exhibitions will envision a curatorial program, based in traditional art historical methodologies and student engagement strategies, for a 2,000 object teaching collection of modern and contemporary American Art. In concert with the Executive Director of the Bardo Arts Center, the curator organizes collection-based exhibitions, non-collection exhibitions and exhibition-specific programs. Must be excited by cross-disciplinary and non-linear approaches. Produces adventurous public programming, scholarly essays and gallery texts and interacts with audiences on social media. The Curator conducts original research on the collections, recommends acquisitions, and coordinates FAM's collections planning. Works with FAM staff to foster faculty and student use of the collection across WCU's campus in curricula, extracurricular research, publishing, and inventive interpretive techniques. The incumbent will be assigned to the Bardo Arts Center and will teach or supervise curriculum based on areas of expertise as part of his/her assigned duties.

Minimum Training & Experience Requirements: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a masters degree in fine arts, art history or a related field with a minimum of two to three years of experience working with museum exhibitions and collections.
