Position Summary: The function of the Dual Degree Program (DDP) Transfer Specialist is to advise DDP students from the time they show interest in the program until the time they have completed their associate degree, are admitted to GSU (or other university), and are assigned to a program academic advisor. The DDP Transfer Specialist will also help grow the program by coordinating and hosting DDP recruiting activities and events. The DDP Transfer Specialist will interpret program, college/university and graduation requirements for both the community college and for GSU, and will communicate them effectively to DDP students. The DDP Transfer Specialist is a professional who works independently and as a member of the DDP team. The DDP Transfer Specialist works a flexible schedule in order to accommodate student and program needs.

Minimum Qualifications: a€¢ Bachelora€™s degree required a€¢ Understanding of higher education-related issues; excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills; ability to complete multiple tasks and high volume of work; mature, professional attitude and appearance; openness to continuing learning and upgrading of skills a€¢ Experience working successfully with diverse populations; able to demonstrate an understanding of, sensitivity to and appreciation for academic, ethnic, socio-economic, disability, age and gender diversity of students and staff attending or working at GSU and partner colleges

Preferred Qualifications: a€¢ Mastera€™s degree in higher education, counseling, or related field a€¢ Knowledge of Student Information Systems (Colleague) a€¢ Evidence of work with diverse student populations a€¢ Experience working in an academic environment a€¢ Experience working in academic advising a€¢ Experience working with transfer programs and students a€¢ Community college experience as a student and/or professional

Work Schedule: This is a full-time position. Regular days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, with hours varying between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. with a 1 hour (unpaid) lunch. Evening and weekend hours are anticipated throughout the year for effective operation of the department and university events.
