Department Overview
The Center for Learning Enhancement, Assessment, and Redesign (CLEAR) supports the University's goals of providing the best undergraduate educational experience in Texas and providing a superior graduate education by working closely with faculty to maximize their teaching effectiveness regardless of mode of instructional delivery. We assist faculty in the design and delivery of courses as well as the measurement of learning at the class, department, and college level. We serve as the liaison for various administrative and technical support functions, thereby saving faculty's time, talent, and creative energies for their students. We provide leadership in the development of polices and the exploration of innovative tools and techniques that promote teaching excellence.
CLEAR supports the UNT teaching community through workshops, seminars, conferences, individual consultations, and the resources available on the CLEAR website with emphasis on aligning theory and practice for the roles required of university instructors in lecture halls, seminar rooms, virtual classroms and labs across all disciplines.

Job Description
The Learn Enhancement, Assessment & Redesign Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a IT Service Desk Manager to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

* Managing support provided to faculty on the Blackboard and Canvas learning (LMS) course sites are provisioned for all courses at the university and play a key role in university academic continuity planning.
* Supervises the CLEAR Faculty Helpdesk, which acts as first line of support for faculty using the LMS and integrated applications.
* Responsible for making sure minimum standards for response time and follow-up are met and that issues requiring higher level support are escalated to the appropriate individual or support unit.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following required qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in related field and three years of related computing work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:

* Prior experience with specific systems, equipment and software may be specified as needed by department.
* Considerable knowledge of principles of computing and/or communications networks, and characteristics of computing hardware and software used in distributed environments.
* Ability to supervise and train subordinates.
* Ability to operate computer keyboards and to install computer hardware.
* Ability to assimilate, retain, and utilize technical and applications-oriented information.

Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the minimum qualifications the preferred candidate will posess the following:

* Experience managing or working at a HelpDesk.
* Knowledge or and experience with Learning Management Systems, and particularly with Canvas & Blackboard.
