Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

Will serve as the Operations Manager for the Walker Institute and Anthropology Department. Prepare reports, documents, expenditures (payment requests, purchase requisitions, foundation check requests) and publications. Will generate HR actions and documents and provide assistant to the Walker Institute and Anthropology Faculty as needed. Serve as the building coordinator and administrative scheduler for Gambrell Hall. Coordinate the implementation, setup, arrangements, and production of all media for the Walker Institute and Anthropology colloquia, lectures, conferences, etc. Assist Anthropology Department with tenure and promotion processes and activities. Maintain and update websites as requested by the Director of the Walker Institute or Chair of the Anthropology Department. Serve as contact person for normal use questions on computer hardware and software. Other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)

Bachelor's degree and 2 years related experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services; or equivalency.

Preferred Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Extensive knowledge of university, administrative, procurement, and human resources policies and procedures. Ability to carry out complex oral and written instructions and ability to communicate with culturally diverse groups both orally and in writing. Advanced knowledge of word processing and ability to operate the latest word processing and data management systems; to include Excel and Adobe.
