Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

Under supervision, this position performs professional duties in the areas of academic advising, orientation, and program coordination in the Academic Affairs and Advising Office – Liberal Arts in the College of Arts and Sciences.

Position requires some evening and weekend work.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)

Masters degree in Student Services or related field, or bachelor's degree and 2 years related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer master's degree in student personnel services. Knowledge of university policies and procedures concerning student information, scheduling, grading, and course curriculum. It is preferred that the individual possess skills and knowledge of student information database, word processing applications, and web applications. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, and staff.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Knowledge of student related programs outside of the College of Arts and Sciences, e.g., admissions, registration, regional campuses. Knowledge of curricular requirements in all undergraduate degree programs in the College of Arts and Sciences. Effective communication skills; ability to work effectively with students, faculty, parents, and other staff. Skills in administrative computing; use of student information databases, word processing applications, and web applications.
