Award winning Santa Monica based catering company is seeking the right candidate to fill an Event Captain position.
Position is full time and requires night and weekend availability. The Event Captain will be responsible for running an operational catering staff for larger events to smaller private upscale events and must have a fine dining approach.
Must be able to stand and work on your feet for extended hours
Must be able to lift 50lbs
Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
Have a valid California Food Handlers Card
Experience in all fields FOH (serving, bartending, bussing, managing)
Fine dining experience
Wine knowledge a huge plus!
Strong management skills and training ability required
Applicant must be strong in service, organized, and have a hands-on approach. Candidate also needs to be a team player, a forward thinker (prepared ahead of time for any possible situation), customer service oriented, have a "can-do" attitude, and flexible as the work can be demanding and fast paced at times.
The Catering Captain will be responsible for all on and off site operations & execution of events - which means all pre-event coordination and set up, the actual event, and post event breakdown. Applicant must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as an Event Captain for all types of events including formal sit down (plated) dinners, buffets, family-style and station style menus and service.
