The College of Arts and Sciences Division of Humanities and Social Sciences invites applications for a full-time tenure track faculty position in Spanish language and Latino/Latin American Studies. The position will join a small, dynamic, and collaborative department that offers a range of language- and culture-based courses and an eight-week study abroad program in Cuenca, Ecuador. The professor will teach six courses (24 semester-hours) per academic year in Spanish language, which may include beginning levels to more advanced courses in language, literature, and culture; Spanish for Heritage Speakers; Latin American Studies (taught in Spanish or English); and a Cornerstone Seminar (a first-year foundations course in the Core Curriculum, taught in English).
Candidates should be native or near-native speakers of Spanish and have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and academic scholarship. A Ph.D. in a field of Spanish language, literature, cultural studies, or equivalent is required at the time of appointment.
