The College of Liberal Arts invites applications for a tenure-track, 10-month Assistant Professor in Urban History/Metropolitan Studies post-1800, in the Department of History beginning August 2018.
ABDs may apply, but PhD is required when position commences in August 2018.Geographical region is open; however, the committee especially welcomes applications from candidates whose work focuses on the comparative study of two or more regions of the world. Demonstrate excellence in teaching and scholarly potential. Possess a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarly productivity, and active participation in service to the department, college and university.
Faculty assigned an instructional workload of six (6) course units per academic year for the first year. Beginning the second year the workload reverts to the standard instructional workload of seven to eight (7-8) course units per academic year. Contribute to Towson’s Metropolitan Studies program and teach outside of the History Department in Towson’s Freshman Seminar Program, the Honors College and the Graduate Program.
