General Summary: The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Student Assistant in Academic Engagement. This position will support UNG's academic and community engagement initiatives, particularly Goal 3 of the UNG Strategic Plan: Expand Engagement and Educational Opportunity. This will include supporting UNG's efforts related to the Carnegie Foundation's Community Engagement Classification.

Job Duties & Responsibilities: The student will:
  • Organize and manage data from multiple internal stakeholders across five campuses
  • Interacting with a variety of community partners (i.e., nonprofit organizations)
  • Synthesize information from multiple sources
  • Create and edit documents
  • Perform additional duties given the successful candidate's individual interests


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Access (preferred)
  • Strong organization skills and ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks
  • Ability to work independently
  • Interest in community service/volunteering


Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker and Federal Work Study eligible.
