Residence Life Student Worker - Institutional Student Worker (Fall 2017)

General Summary: The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Residence Life Student Worker. The Office of Residence Life operates the five residence halls on campus and works to create a community among the 2000 residents who live in them in. The student worker position would work closely with the Office Administrator and Housing Coordinator on daily operational tasks. They would be a front line person, often being the first person students/parents meet.

Job Duties & Responsibilities: The student will:
  • Assist students, parents, faculty, and staff that may stop by the office
  • Assist the Director, Assistant Director, Office Administrator and Housing Coordinator with daily operational tasks: answering phones, running errands, hang posters in the Residence halls, filing documents, etc.
  • Help resident directors and resident assistants with projects as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong phone skills required.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • High attention to detail
  • Self-management
  • General knowledge about the residence halls on campus

Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Docs required.
  • Experience with UNG Banner.
  • Experience living on-campus at UNG or another institution, preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to work at least 12 hours per week with a maximum of 19 per week, and must be available for Summer hours and for entirety of Move-In Week and RA Selection Weekend.
