Department Overview
The College of Health and Public Service (HPS) is a pioneer in distributed learning, currently offering over 68 web-based courses, one fully online master's degree in rehabilitation counseling, and an online certificate in volunteer management. The Student Services Office provides ongoing support for HPS undergraduate students as they move from freshman to senior status.

Job Description
The HPS - Advising Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire an Office Support Associate to join our team.

Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

* General office support to the College of Health and Public Service Advisors and Senior Administrative Specialist.
* Coordinate daily office responsibilities such as greet visitors and students in the reception area and answer phones.
* Schedule student appointments for advisors, administrative specialist and director.
* Manage filing system, type articles, reports, letters, tabulations, statistical data and other materials.
* Supervision of work-study student positions.
* Monitor and maintain computers, copy machine, telephone, office supplies, and printing needs.
* Other tasks and assignments as request.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a High school diploma and three years of moderately responsible and varied office administration or business management experience; or any equivalent combination of
experience, education, and training.

The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:

* Advanced customer service skills.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
* Knowledge of accounting/budgeting procedures.
* Ability to work under pressure, to adjust to constant changes, to handle multiple tasks, and to coordinate the work of others.
* Ability to keep complex records, to assemble and organize data of complex nature, and to prepare and submit reports in acceptable formats.
* Ability to conceptualize, plan and organize multiple programs and assignments effectively.
* Ability to work on complex and confidential tasks utilizing judgment, tact, and resourcefulness.
* Skill in developing and maintaining good working relationships.
* Knowledge of policies, practices, procedures and terminology of assigned function.
