Group Exercise Instructor - Institutional Student Worker - (Dahlonega)

General Summary: University of North Georgia's Recreational Sports Department is seeking knowledgeable, energetic students interested in promoting fitness on campus for the position of Group Exercise Instructor. Rec Sports offers a healthy, friendly work environment and is able to accommodate student schedules.

Job Duties & Responsibilities: The Group Exercise Instructors will:
  • Create and deliver fitness classes to 1-30 participants.
  • Encourage and motivate participants before, during and after workouts and ensure the safety of participants by providing appropriate modifications and progressions for exercises.
  • Be required to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED training through American Red Cross within one (1) month of employment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise technique, and body mechanics needed
  • Must teach and assist participants 18 years and up of varied fitness levels

Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • Required to hold a nationally accredited certification for general group exercise or in specific area of training (i.e. zumba/pilates/yoga)
  • Teaching experience preferred but can help to train in specific exercise formats
