This position is with the University Business Administrators Program located in the Office of Human Resources.
This position is responsible for financial support to the Office of Human Resources and the Employee Assistance Program.
Serve as the Budget Manager for the Office of Human Resources (HR) and Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Responsible for the reconciliation and maintenance of the departments* general ledgers in OMNI and Foundation accounts. Oversee all financial management, reporting and transactions for the offices. Act as a liaison between the offices and other university functional areas.
Monitor the financial position of all accounts and make recommendations. Participate in budget planning, to include HR*s background check auxiliary account. Process invoices and charge departments for background checks accordingly.
Serve as Department Manager, which includes approving job offers and ePAFs. Responsible for various HR transaction activities, to include reviewing HR Actives reports, Cost Center reports, and completing employment contracts.
Assist with special assignments, as needed, including Collective Bargaining and HR Department Representative Meetings.
Ensure a sound environment of internal financial controls and compliance by monitoring and reviewing financial processes on an on-going basis. Interpret and communicate financial policies to departmental staff.
Bachelor's Degree and two years of experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years. Experience compiling, reviewing, and reconciling data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance. Experience prioritizing, organizing and performing multiple work assignments simultaneously. Experience working with Microsoft Office, Excel, and other applicable computer applications.
Experience utilizing problem solving skills.
Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.
Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of fiscal control systems.
Knowledge of and ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
Anticipated Salary Range
Mid to High 30's
This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.
