Position Summary: A Research Associate position is available in the Bautch Lab whose studies focus on the growth and interactions of cells in their natural environment - the animal - and how these interactions are modified in disease. This is a senior position that will be responsible for developing, conducting and evaluating scientific research. The successful candidate will understand the context and implications of the research in order to apply and interpret theoretical knowledge necessary to conduct research in the area of vascular development and disease. The range of duties includes, but is not limited to: project planning, experimental design, developing methodology, conducting procedures, modifying procedures as needed, data collection and analysis, project management, preparing publications and reports, and communication and instruction. Work will include some training and supervision of students in techniques.

Education Requirements: Candidates must have Ph.D. or M.D. in a field of biological science and a minimum of 2 years post doctoral experience. Strong publication record using mouse a as model system required.

Qualification and Experience: Applicants are required to have extensive experience with using the mouse as a model system. Experience includes expertise with single-cell RNA seq and population RNA seq, including experimental design and execution, and analysis of data sets. In addition, applicants need an extensive background in phenotypic analysis including but not limited to histology, H&E sectioning, in situs, and immuno-histochemistry. The candidate will further need a proven record of productivity and publication, and some experience in training undergraduate and PhD students, and some background in writing manuscripts and fellowships. Preference will be given to those individual with first author papers in top tier journals and a proven track record in the area of mammalian cardiovascular development.
