Position Summary: University Career Services' (UCS) staff assists students when selecting a major and career direction, planning for their career goals, learning effective job search skills and strategies, and finding part-time jobs, internships and employment. Staff work with employers and potential employers of UNC students, and assist graduate students to find part-time jobs, internships and employment. UCS programs include helping students learn about career fields, establishing linkages between students and employers, and offering reference file services to students applying to graduate and professional school and other selected fields of employment. The Job Location and Development Coordinator (JLD)serves three primary roles: 1) advising and counseling students interested in securing part-time employment while attending UNC; 2) developing relationships with employers interested in hiring UNC students for part-time positions; and 3) serving as a member of the UCS counseling and programming team. The position reports to the Associate Director for External Relations.

Education Requirements: Master's Degree in student personnel/higher education, counseling, or related field with experience in human resources or career counseling.
Qualification and Experience: Experience: At least two years of experience in college student services with preference given to individuals who have worked in career services and/or student employment. Specific Skills and Competencies: - Effective oral and written communication skills - Frequent travel to visit employers required - Ability to plan and implement annual employer development strategies - Ability to establish rapport and relate well to students, faculty, employers, and staff - Ability to effectively create and deliver presentations and workshops to large audiences - Computer proficiency (specifically the Microsoft Office Suite) and industry standard career management systems - Willingness to learn and use new and emerging technologies including social media and online resources.
