Reporting to the Director of Digital Media Creation and Strategy, the Creative Producer (CP) collaborates with colleagues within the Office of the Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning, as well as faculty and instructors to develop and manage complex, highly creative digital media projects. The Creative Producer will guide projects through the entire lifecycle - from concept creation and pre-production to delivery and archiving.

The Senior Creative Producer will: Build and manage productive relationships with a broad range of people, including faculty, academic staff, engineers, etc.: closely collaborating on creative approaches to meet learning goals with digital media, setting timelines, articulating the production process and expectations, communicating issues, providing status updates, and suggesting appropriate methods for improvement.Develop overall themes for multi-faceted projects as well as individual concepts, and determine appropriate mediums and the effective use of resources.Coordinate pre-production process: work with faculty and instructors on concept development, scripts, and storyboards; create and communicate project scope and timelines; and manage deliverables within the resources allocated.Coordinate production process: schedule shoots and determine staffing needs; uphold legal compliance standards and procedures; finalize deliverables with the teaching team; and post assets to internal or external media hosting platforms.Organize post-production of content and collaborate with post-production team: editing video, adding slides and supplemental content, encoding video resources.Help faculty and instructors understand recording options available to them, and help them learn to record their lectures using the methods most appropriate to their needs.Assist teaching team, including TAs, with video production tools and course platforms. Serve as the in-house digital media expert for a school/unit.Research, recommend, and implement hardware and software configurations to meet customer needs, create costs estimates for different equipment options.Make recommendations for purchases and repairs of digital media equipment.Act as liaison with contractors and identify competitive pricing for products and services.Work on technical projects requiring expertise and creativity in analysis and deployment of technology.May lead and train other production staff. The successful candidate will have: The ability to manage a variety of complex, highly creative projects with changing priorities, deadlines, and faculty and staff needsExperience working on multiple projects concurrently, including a commitment to meeting timelines and proactively communicating delays or issuesThe ability to think creatively in project conceptualization as well as finding solutions to problemsDemonstrated experience with concept creation and production processExcellent interpersonal skills and positive service-oriented attitude; sensitive to faculty needs and expectations; mature judgment and developed diplomacy skills; demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationshipsStrong skills with NLE workflows - Premiere and After Effects preferredStrong knowledge of digital asset management, including color correction and audio mixing, and production techniquesAdvanced technical experience using production equipment including field and studio cameras, sound and lighting equipment, camera workflows, video creation and editing software, encoding best practices and video compression formatsStrong ability to perform detailed work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detailAbility to set-up, breakdown and carry equipment to and from recording studios, classrooms, and other production sitesUnderstanding of online video environment and online distribution; interest in learning new, emerging platforms and toolsThe ability to lead a small team on complex productions - to work independently as well as effectively in a collaborative team environment*All applicants will need to submit a portfolio of work. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
Bachelor's degree and seven years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Expert level technical experience using digital media equipment, video creation, editing software, and/or motion graphics and effects software.Comprehensive knowledge in production techniques including videography, compression and file delivery and other production formats.Extensive knowledge of all aspects of professional quality productions, including field and studio camera, lighting, sound and editing,Proven savvy and understanding of online video environment and online distribution.Ability to independently manage a variety of simultaneous projects within tight deadlines, excellent organizational and time management skills.Demonstrated experience leading and training others.Ability to communicate and articulate digital media products and options and adapt to alternatives when appropriate.Excellent interpersonal skills, mature judgment, and diplomacy required to interact effectively with and provide customer service to a broad audience, including high-level executives and faculty.Ability to work independently as well as effectively in a collaborative team environment.Experience planning, coordinating, and executing archival digitization projects.
