Coordinator - EIT Accessibility

Web Development Services and Accessibility Services have collaborated to bring a unique opportunity to campus. We are seeking a qualified individual to fulfill the role of the Electronic and Information Technology (EIT) Accessibility Coordinator. The work includes collaborating with campus entities, departments, and committees to ensure the accessibility of technology, systems, applications, websites, mobile apps, etc. A qualified candidate will demonstrate experience and leadership in the promotion and implementation of accessibility measures in EIT. The Coordinator functions as a member of the Accessible Campus Committee.

Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in a directly related field of study or a combination of education and experience totaling four years.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Expertise in WCAG 2.0 standards and Section 508 accessibility requirements in conjunction with knowledge of the Americans with Disability Act Amendments (ADAA).
Experience with implementing accessibility standards in EIT.
Experience drafting accessible technology guidelines, procedures and policies.
Experience evaluating third party technology systems against accessibility standards.
Experience working with any of the following types of systems: learning management systems, student information systems, multimedia management systems, content management systems, databases.
Experience with implementing and using assistive technologies such as screen readers, captioning systems, screen enhancement technology, EIT mobility devices, etc.
Knowledge of accessible technology structures within applications, systems, mobile apps, web systems, e-learning systems, electronic documents, forms, etc.
Knowledge of accessibility solutions for technology.
Knowledge of accessible web development, including HTML, CSS, etc.

Effective stand-up and one-on-one training skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Effective listening and negotiation skills.
EIT evaluation skills.
Communicate clearly and exercise effective interpersonal, problem solving, team oriented, and decision-making skills where a certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Ability to resolve problems by thinking logically, identify tasks, and developing modular programming steps.
Ability to self-start, plan, and implement large projects, work with limited supervision, and meet deadlines.
Ability to effectively work with clients to conceptualize and develop an instructional product.
Ability to be a team player and willingness to work in a team environment.
Ability to follow directions and work under supervision.
Ability to keep current with industry standards and trends by attending training and conferences; reading technical material; and corresponding with other professionals through the use of list serves, networks, and bulletin boards.

Preferred Qualifications:

Physical Requirements:
Frequent walking, reaching, and fine hand manipulation with continual talking, hearing, seeing and ability to lift 10-25 lbs.

Pay Range: $41,804-$55,739
