The Center on American Politics is a new initiative at the University that focuses broadly on issues related to modern American political concerns, including representation, democratic engagement, electoral behavior, and the health of governing institutions. The position is open to a broad range of research specialties involving the study of American politics.

Position Summary

The Center on American Politics at the University of Denver invites applicants for a post-doctoral fellow position. The appointment will be for two years beginning September 1, 2018. The post-doctoral fellow will receive a competitive annual stipend and have access to a $10,000 annual research account. The fellow will be expected to participate in several Center events and to give a presentation to faculty and students about the fellow's research efforts.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct scholarly research on phenomena associated with American politics with an eye toward producing manuscripts publishable in peer reviewed journals or academic presses.
  • Interact with other University faculty in areas related to their research.
  • Present research at talks and lunches, and attend presentations of other scholars in their research area.

Required Qualifications

  • ABD or Ph.D. with research focus related to American politics.
