Assistant Professor of Sport Management
The Department of Sport Management at Flagler College invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 2018. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Sport Management or closely related discipline (or have a documented completion date prior to appointment) and demonstrate commitment to teaching and mentoring undergraduate students. Requirements include evidence of excellence in teaching, an active professional agenda, and teaching and/or industry experience in the following areas: sport finance, sport analytics, sport economics, sport administration, and/or sport governance. Preferred qualifications include evidence of scholarly production, experience with sport specific technology and computer applications, evidence of interdisciplinary work, experience with curriculum development and program accreditation, supervision of student practical experiences, undergraduate academic advising, and dedication to diverse and inclusive learning environments. The teaching load is four classes per semester. Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with rank and experience.
The Department of Sport Management, part of Flagler College’s pre-professional curriculum, prepares students for productive careers in the unique, multibillion-dollar industry sport industry. The Department of Sport Management provides students with a traditional academic foundation as well as high impact practices of experiential learning and internships to develop ethical, problem-solving young professionals. Flagler’s Department of Sport Management contains approximately 125 undergraduate students.
