The research assistant will assist in the day-to-day activities of various worker safety and health research projects. Research projects include (but are not limited to) randomized controlled studies of worker health and safety in construction and trucking industries. The research assistant will report to the principal investigator. He/she will be responsible for various tasks related to these projects, such as: data acquisition, data processing, development and implementation of IRB applications and recruitment strategies, proofreading papers and grants, and training of research students that volunteer in the laboratory. This position will also handle the coordination and completion of administrative tasks for the laboratory, e.g. scheduling lab meetings, computer inventory, onboarding and offboarding, etc.
Applicants require a bachelor’s degree with, with 1-2 years of work experience. Applicants should be well organized and have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in order to communicate with subjects. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel. Experience with database systems such as MS Access, RedCap, and Qualtrics are preferred.
