The Graphic Designer is responsible for designing visual content for the Writing Program and Writing Center that aligns with our mission and philosophy. This includes publicity, website, and other visual materials as needed.

Required Education

    Bachelor's Degree.

Required Experience

    At least two years of graphic design experience.

Primary Duties/Essential Functions

    Think creatively and develop new design concepts, graphics, and layouts. Prepare rough drafts of visuals and present ideas to Writing Leadership Team. Write and develop content about the Writing Program and Writing Center for dissemination on websites, social media, and print media. Illustrate concepts by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts. Manage simultaneous projects and prioritize responsibilities to meet varying deadlines. Appropriately format materials for submission to vendors. Liaise with external printers and other vendors to ensure deadlines are met and material is printed to the highest quality. Maintain organized system on Google Drive so that design projects are easily accessible to other staff members. Design newsletters, infographics, announcements, and handouts for Writing Program and Writing Center on a regular basis. Communicate regular progress on design projects to team. Continually evaluate design of current program materials and adjust or revise as program needs fluctuate. Learn new design software as needed. Research and stay up to date with evolving design trends and best practices. Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
