Responsibilities:

Advise and counsel full and part-time undergraduate students/families on the availability of financial aid, the delivery process for receiving it, and the reconciliation processes required to insure that financial aid funds are transferred to student account. Review student applications, perform verification procedures, review/evaluate appeals, and intercede for students with participating departments (deans, bursar, registrar, and co-op). Manage all functions relating to the administration of University Athletics' scholarships for 500+ athletes representing a budget of more than $11M annually. Maintain and administer early financial aid read process for potential student athletes. Hire, train and supervise three financial aid counselors. Represent Student Financial Services at different recruitment/informational events on campus.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required. Three to seven years of progressively responsible experience in a financial aid office. Proficiency in federal student aid policy, need analysis and verification procedures. Ability to use student information systems, preferably PowerFAIDS, to process student aid applicants and related student-athlete information. Ability to use Microsoft Access, Excel and Word to track records and produce appropriate communications to students and management reports as needed. Familiarity with NCAA Financial Aid Bylaw 15; experience with National Letter of Intent (NLI) processing; knowledge of NCAA counters and equivalencies preferred. Counseling and/or administrative experience in a large office, with previous supervisory experience preferred. Strong written and verbal communications skills, in one to one and large group situations. Ability to organize time and work under pressure with constant deadlines.
