Student Affairs Coordinator Job Description

Saybrook University is seeking a Student Affairs Coordinator to join its enrollment management division.

Under the direction of the Director of Student Success, the Student Affairs Coordinator is responsible for timely and accurate compliance-related activities such as monitoring and overseeing ADA/Section 504 and Title IX compliance. Student Affairs Coordinator acts as staff liaison for student organizations, supports the Director of Student Success in the development and execution of retention-related activities and performs duties of the university's DSO and Seattle campus VA Certifying official.

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Assisting students with arranging reasonable accommodations in compliance with ADA regulations
  • Coordination of training, education, communications, and administration of Title IX for faculty, staff, students and other members of the University community in collaboration with the legal department
  • Supporting student led organizations, attending meetings, and providing oversight of Student Budget Committee
  • Supporting the Director of Student Success in the implementation of student life activities, intended to increase engagement and student persistence
  • Acting as a Designated School Official (DSO) for F-1 students and supporting the Director of Student Success with SEVP reporting
  • Functioning as the Certifying Official for Seattle program VA students
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred
  • Previous student affairs/student life experience, preferably in a graduate level environment
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed

Position Qualifications:
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to develop and meet goals is required.
  • Knowledge of computers, peripherals, and software programs such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, CampusVue, SEVIS.
  • Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and be flexible in order to match the demands of the students and department.
  • Able to take direction, work effectively and professionally and must be able to work with a wide range of diverse populations and persons with disabilities.
