Essential functions of this position:
The position assists the financial analytics office with technical and financial analytical work for the university. This position develops reporting solutions using technical expertise for day-to-day reporting maintenance, modification or development of complex inter-related applications/solutions utilizing technical design of reporting and includes data mapping and writing complex reports. Solutions link technical knowledge with business to support the Business Affairs Division and the university with financial reporting and analysis. The position provides technical assistance to other report writers. In addition, this position analyzes data and identifies trends and prepares solutions to mitigate risks. Analysis requires the compilation of finance data to best represent the financial position of the university.

N.C. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree with nine credit hours in programming and one year of experience in business application consulting or development; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Additional knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position:
Technical experience related to use of BI tools and managing report repositories
Technical experience developing and managing databases
Experience in writing financial reports with SQL and SSRS or related tool
Accounting experience
Financial reporting experience
Ability to transform financial data into financial reports that are easy to understand
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with campus
Ability to work in a collaborative team-oriented environment
Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
The position must apply knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) as well as knowledge of university, state and federal regulations to determine viability of financial scenarios

Preferred education, professional skills and experience:
Four-year degree in accounting, finance, business management or other related discipline with credit hours in accounting and information systems
Minimum of 3 years university or governmental analytical experience
Banner experience
Budget experience
SSRS – Server Reporting Services Web Reports experience
SQL experience
Experience working with an ERP system
Programming experience

Recruitment Range: $52,000 - $59,183
NC Salary Grade Equivalency: 74
Hours Per Week: 1.0 (40 hours per week)
