Posting Summary:
As a member of the Information Services Team within Library Services & Spaces, the Fine Arts Library Evening Manager is responsible for the smooth operation of the Fine Arts Desk in the evenings. This includes supervising students, consulting with library patrons, and effectively addressing any situations that may arise. The incumbent interacts directly with library users, virtually and in-person, to answer questions related to use of the library and circulation of library resources, and performs a number of site-specific duties relating to management of the collections. In addition, working with the acquisition & discovery units in the Scholarly Resources & Content Strategy Department, this position performs a variety of routine technical services.
Qualifications: Required: Bachelor's degree; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. At least one year of customer or public service experience, either in a library or other setting. Ability to work with patrons and staff in a patient and courteous manner. Ability to train student workers. Proficient in computer applications with working knowledge of various database and software programs. Ability to work independently in a constantly changing environment and organize time and work assignments effectively. Ability to work accurately with attention to detail. Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication in daily interactions. Ability to clearly articulate specific library information. Ability to learn and perform core library skills. Basic knowledge of the University's educational mission, strategies, aims, and programs. Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook.
