Posting Summary:
The University of Virginia is currently seeking a Clinical Division Administrator for the Division of Gastroenterology in the Department of Medicine. This position oversees the day-to-day operations of the division, which includes budget and financial management and reporting, human resources, research administration, and general operations. This position also serves as the point of contact for all operational and financial activities of the Division. In addition, this position provides leadership for administrative staff and serves as division liaison with various institutional stakeholders.

Qualified applicants must have a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of five years of financial, operations, and strategic management experience, including a minimum of two years in a financial leadership position. Applicants must have demonstrated knowledge of grants and contracts guidelines as well as the preparation of grant proposals and submissions; knowledge of regulatory guidelines and approvals needed for international medicine, clinical, and research activities; advanced organizational skills to meet many concurrent deadlines on a variety of projects; and knowledge of medical and scientific terminology. Applicants must have the ability to make intelligent judgments and decisions under time constraints; to prioritize workload while providing administrative support to a number of people, keeping functions in perspective, and to encourage others to complete projects; to use various office equipment and machines, such as fax and photocopy machines; and to analyze situations to recommend and implement effective solutions. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) is required. A Master's degree with previous experience in healthcare administration, supervising employees, working with physicians, and in the development of systems to track, monitor, and report operational results and program compliance is preferred. Knowledge of UVA Integrated financial modules and reporting tools are also preferred.
