Job Description

The Data Analyst II uses their technical skills and training to extract data from core application libraries for the purposes of creating and manipulating complex spreadsheets and formulas, discovery of patterns and relationships, creation of summarized reports for senior management. These reports are used to assess business events and trends, as interpreted from health care clinical data and corporate financial data. Candidates must have a strong mathematical ability and a passion for analytical work. Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the Data Analyst serves as a decision support specialist for projects relating to practice workflow improvement, enhancements to quality outcomes for patient services, and the proper use of professional resources to meet the organizational objectives.

  • Bachelors degree with a major in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance or Computer Sciences, and at least 3 years of experience in scientific or enterprise data analytics. Examples are: real estate analysis with an investment group or fund, investment trust asset valuation, banking or insurance risk/actuarial studies, or data analysis for hospital, public health or advocacy institutions.
  • Expert or very advanced Excel skills level.
  • Expert or very advanced SQL report composition skills
  • Expert or very advanced skills with Oracle Discoverer or other ad hoc querying tools
  • Advanced data analysis ("mining"), data modeling, and financial modeling skills, using 4th dimension, interdisciplinary modeling dynamics.
  • Excellent professional presentation and written communication skills.
  • Experience developing pitch book, business plans, and/or cash flow models is preferred
  • Experience with healthcare (medical or surgical) data analysis is preferred
