Job Description Summary:

The Deans' Office within George Washington University's Graduate School of Human Development and Education (GSEHD) invites applications for an experienced full-time Senior Facilities and Operations Associate. Among the oldest and most highly regarded graduate programs, GSEHD occupies 4 buildings across the Foggy Bottom campus and interacts frequently with GSEHD staff at the Virginia Science and Technology Center in Ashburn, VA, The Alexandria Graduate Education Center, in Alexandria, VA and the Hampton Roads Center in Newport News, VA. Reporting to the Chief of Staff, the Senior Facilities and Operations Associate will be responsible for the operational coordination and management of GSEHD buildings, real estate, IT equipment and other physical assets. Key responsibilities include:

• Perform office and building management functions and serve as point of contact for repairs and services for Foggy Bottom campus buildings.
• May have to assist with opening the center.
• Coordinates faculty and staff office moves as well as identify graduate assistant (GA) room assignments.
• Manage building key distribution and tracking.
• Facilitate building projects (ranging from minor i.e. carpet cleaning to major construction/renovation projects.)
• AssistGSEHDDean's, Chief of Staff, faculty and staff with room reservation requests as needed.
• Facilitate resolution of ongoing building maintenance and security issues and request building access for new staff.
• Coordinate with the Finance office to organize and facilitate the Administrative Resources Group (ARG) within GSEHD.
• Maintain budgets for operations and technical equipment purchasing in coordination with the Finance office.
• Point of contact for telephones (ordering/assigning units, securing new numbers, updating GSEHDQuick and Main Directory, etc.)
• GSEHD point of contact for TheDivision of Information Technology (DIT) by liaising with IT contacts to coordinate and place purchases for new computer equipment for faculty, staff, tracks/maintains equipment inventory.)
• Point of contact for all Xerox machine issues in allGSEHDbuildings (submitting requests for repairs, replacement, technical issues, ordering of copier paper).
• Maintain records for Recall boxes, Iron Mountain (shredding) and Deer park water service.
• Maintain and updateGSEHDbuilding directory by floor with faculty & staff room assignment.
• Support GSEHDevents by assisting with the submission of chargeable Fixit requests.
• Performs other duties and support for the Deans and Chief of Staff as assigned. (The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.)

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

3-5 years of experience in facilities,operations, and/or IT management.
Supervisory experience.
Facility in oral and written expression and administrative capacity.
Enjoys working as part of a team as well as independently to achieve program goals and objectives.

Able to interact effectively with a diverse population at all levels, facilitate decision making and conflict resolution, maintain a positive and constructive demeanor treating all staff, students, faculty and vendors with professionalism, courtesy and respect.
