The Canadian Studies Program at Princeton University seeks to appoint a distinguished visitor whose work promotes interactions, collaboration and educational opportunities between students and scholars at Princeton and in Canada on topics related to any area of Canadian Scholarship. This appointment is for the 2018-2019 academic year. The visitor will be in-residence on the Princeton campus as a member of a host department for no less than six, and up to twelve, weeks during the academic year. As a member of a host department or program, he or she is expected to interact directly with a wide cross-section of Princeton students, research scholars, and faculty. In addition, at least one semester during this appointment, they must teach an undergraduate course in their host department with significant Canadian content. The course will be offered under the auspices of the department or program at Princeton that most closely corresponds to the recipient's academic discipline, subject to the approval of the host department and the Dean of the Faculty and subject to sufficient enrollment. Applicants must have an advanced degree and hold a full time position in a Canadian university. Ph.D. is preferred. The strongest candidates will already lead dynamic and interactive research programs at their home institutions. The salary provided will depend upon the recipient's rank, salary, and sabbatical compensation at the home university.
