Summary of Job Duties
The Computer Support Technician supports the division of University Advancement.
The Computer Support Technician will help resolve hardware or software problems for Advancement staff. Will help with diagnosing the source of malfunctions, recommending corrective actions, and/or consulting with appropriate staff. Provides recommendations on the purchase of user hardware and software. Assists in planning, preparation, and conducting seminars on software, hardware, network or other computer related topics. Performs other duties as assigned.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

- The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field
- Completion of technical training in computer science, information technology, or a related field acquired from a vocational, military, or industrial setting
- At least two years of experience in computer support

- Knowledge of the limitations and use of mainframe and microcomputer hardware and software
