Responsibilities

This position will function as an Associate Director for Residence Life. This position is responsible for initiating and shaping the development of policies related to residence life and residence life staff. Interprets policies to staff, students, student leadership, families, staff, faculty, and other constituents. Ensures ongoing system for fair disposition of conduct situations involving residential students
Develops and monitors student development programming to promote educational and wellness benefits to residential students. Works with internal/external entities to develop, evaluate, and implement student development programming, including but not limited to faculty, staff, Student Affairs departments, and other constituents.
Responsible for the supervision of all full-time, graduate, and undergraduate staff in residence life. Coordinates programs, develops procedures, and oversees management of processes that result in the employment, training, continuous development, and evaluation of full-time, graduate, and undergraduate student staff working in residence halls. Coordinates crisis response for emergencies involving residential students and/or campus operations. Responsible for the management of confidential information. Works with the Director for Residential Student Experience to monitor and facilitate emergency management policies and procedures to constituents.
Oversees management of budgetary funds allocated for the overall operation of the residence life program, including but not limited to staff development, student leadership development, and student programming. Other duties as assigned in support of University Housing, including but not limited to serving on departmental, divisional, and institutional committees, work groups, and/or task forces. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and six years of experience related to the duties of this position; or a high school diploma/equivalency and ten years of experience related to the duties of this position
(Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to ten years.)
Experience in higher education administration, student personnel, counseling or related field.
Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, goals and objectives.
Ability to train and supervise employees.
Ability to apply the principles and practices of strategic, planning development, and evaluation.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Preferred

Master’s degree in higher education administration, student personnel, counseling or related field with at least seven (7) years of post-master's experience in college and/or university housing/residence life experience.

Salary is commensurate with experience and includes a full state benefits package.
