The Facilities Operations Department is a service organization comprised of skilled professionals dedicated to the continuous maintenance operation and improvement of the university facilities and grounds in order to provide a safe, clean and well functioning environment for all members of the university community.
Facilities Operations is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Floor Tech position.
The position is responsible for completing floor care projects on campus to floors, which includes:
Mop, buff, strip and re-wax floors;
shampoo and extract carpet, clean upholstery, bonnet carpets;
Top scrub floors and resurface wood floors;
Completes general and detail cleaning in academic, administrative, and performance building on the campus;
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Position is also involved in special projects such as furniture and supply moves.
Some knowledge of cleaning procedures, ability to follow instructions and to perform medium to heavy physical work; an equivalent combination of training and experience. Special certification may be required for some of these positions. High School Diploma or GED
One (1) to two (2) years experience in the use and care of floor maintenance equipment

Valid driver's license is required
