Provides expert technical leadership in coordinating, facilitating, motivating, and directing efforts of cross-functional program teams. Establishes documents and monitors program goals and objectives.
Ensures counter-measures are initiated to correct unfavorable variances through the use of the Program Launch Process. Interfaces with both internal and external resources to maintain strong customer relationships with a focus on customer schedules. Actively manages program team research, recommend and initiate enhancements, which impact processes, products, and programs.
Ideally, this position will be located in central proximity to customers in Lisle, IL as well as CKT in Montpelier, OH.
Job duties are performed with minimal direction and supervision. Work requires independent problem solving and decision making with broad guidance provided on overall program objectives and specific guidance on complex issues. Job duties are complex/simple, broad/narrow and require assumed responsibilities for all aspects of assigned programs. Decisions may involve moderate risk to the company although results could have long-lasting impact. Performs to the quality standards established by the facility.
Provides expert technical leadership in coordinating, facilitating, motivating, and directing efforts of cross-functional program teams including individuals from Account management, Launch Quality, Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering, and Project Engineering.
Develops program objectives and gains support from all team members involved to insure customer demands for successful launches are met. Objectives include timing, engineering support, internally and externally. Insures customer and company requirements are met including cost, quality, and timing.
Works with internal and externally resources to maintain customer schedules. Ensures countermeasures are initiated to correct unfavorable variances by communicating alternatives to the customer, which may be used to resolve engineering issues.
Documents and monitors program objectives through the use of open issues, gateway reviews and monthly management meetings.
Participates in continuous improvement efforts. Researches, recommends and initiates implementation of enhancements to products, processes, and programs.
Supervises and/or provides direction to team members and other staff.

Bachelor's degree with a minimum three years experience with project management experience including broad understanding of product development engineering practices, principles, procedures, processes, etc. or equivalent. Possesses specific knowledge and expertise related to customer product development life cycles and its technically current in respective field. Experience with automotive, furniture, or commercial products is required.
Strong organizational, conflict management and leadership skills. Must be able to work independently or with little supervision.
Demonstrated strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Must have excellent interpersonal skills to influence various departments and levels.
Competent in how to prepare financial budgets and understand the financial aspects of program deliverables, quote new business, etc.
Demonstrated ability to research and recommend new product/process/program enhancements and initiate implementation.
Minimum five years experience in engineering/program management or equivalent. Should have broad knowledge of technologies, customers, products and programs.
Demonstrated leadership abilities to meet program goals and objectives (launch key measurable and a successful launch at the plant).
Must be able to work on several complex programs simultaneously. Must have experience with program financials. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others through support, training, etc.
Demonstrated ability to thoroughly research, recommend, and oversee implementation of new products, materials, processes, etc. Champions innovative opportunities to expand the organization's current and future business.
Minimum ten years of diverse professional and managerial experience. Experience with a broad range of products is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to manage and take responsibility for critical programs based on sales volume or strategic importance.
Superior leaderships abilities in managing multiple programs to meet quality, cost, delivery targets from concept through launch.
Demonstrated strong financial skills to understand, develop, analyze, and communicate project financial measures and their effect on customer programs.
